Today's Quote: "Remembering is the future tense of forgetting. Forgetting is the past tense of remembering."
I arrived home late last night from our DWCHS class reunion via Manila.
Stayed in Manila Dec.29-30 with my cousin & Cheska my daughter.
Dalawang kasiyahan ang aking nasaksihan dahil sa I saw my former
classmates of 36 years ago and my cousins, uncles & aunts for more
than 20 years in Manila.
I was not able to join the group sa
morning Mass at the DWCHS chapel and the visit to our dearly departed
classmates since I arrived in the afternoon of December 27, first day
of our reunion. I so really missed this one. I really overjoyed to see
all my classmates sumundo sa akin sa airport...May tarpaulin pang
dala-dala, OMG !!! Chi, Butchi and some of the stags talagang sa tarmac
pumunta a hindi na naka-antay akong pumasok sa arrival
area..picture,pictures...shots there and shots here...pose there and
pose here...kasama si Teacher Sabater sa airport to welcome me
guys..Imagine teacher Sabater, our Chemistry teacher. Magulo na sa
labas kahit umuulan, i saw everybody now...i felt na nahihiya at
natutuwa at nananabik makitaaaa ang mga stags..I dont know really how
to react at that instance....
I
was with Bob' car and we proceeded to Sikatuna Grill for snack since
almost 3 pm na and it was raining that time and Turukadan now was not
in the iterinary since it was raining cats & dogs..hehehe.
Fortunately
the sun showed up so the group decided to proceed to Lignon Hill
anyway. Bob, Cecil his wife & I beg not to join but was prevailed
upon anyway by the group to join TURUKADAN. Lignon Hill so steep ang
climb but our group was in the car ni Jay. I was thinking at the back
of my mind paano na sila Grace, my wife and all the other stags,
maglalakad lang. But they arrive there anyway sa VIEWDECK. So nice. So
beautiful...Chi and Thelma and her kids...OMG...nag ZIPLINE...hahahaha..
Then
we had dinner/dancing/cocktails sa Brent's Grill....some went early
kasi nga ulan na naman..for us and other stags who stayed late at night
together with Teacher Sabater..grabe teacher Sabater..joined and stayed
with us for the 2-day event and stayed late also...HAHAHAHA...PARA SA
MGA NANGYARI AT KWENTUHAN THAT NIGHT.....other stags na lang siguro
magkwento....bitin? HAHAHAHA.
The following day was still
raining but hindi pa rin napigil ang kasiyahan.....our venue was PATIO
DE SAN JOSE in Malilipot, Albay..convoy kami pagpunta doon...Enjoy
talaga...very near the city....A new resort and very nice
place....other stags na rin magkwento...i have to eat lunch now..Bitin
na naman? HAHAHAHAHA
I think chito will uplod the picture & videos with TAGLINES....or rather subtitles ( quotes) now !!!! one-liner
baga..ito abangan ninyo !!!! hahahahaaha
Grace,
William & I really enjoyed our very short stay in Legaspi City,
kahit na maulan. Bitin talaga....I hope to be back in Legaspi with my 2
kids na early neaxt year.
Kudos sa lahat especially sa
organizing commitee led by Chito. Hope next tiem will be more bigger
and sana mas maraming stags will be able to attend..Ako attend pa rin
siguro..will try my very best.....to attend...maybe 4 years from now?
See you again guys !!!!! (Wag kayong madadala sa pagbisita ko ha.)
Thank for your post-reunion email. It was a quick feedback. I am glad to know you had a safe trip and you're back home. When we sent you off at the Legazpi airport we were worried a cancelled flight will cause you much inconvenience.
We wish to convey again our deep appreciation for your 'sacrifice', coming to Legazpi just to attend our Reunion. You are a brave, tough guy Dennins. Hehe... Yes, "wheeling and willing" indeed.
I was reviewing our photos and I can see the images of the emotion- packed moments as your fellow Stags braved the rains to welcome you at the airport. I realized then, how strong our bond could be, even after 36 years. The Divinian flame is still alive.
For me, the most touching moment of our Reunion was when you stood in front of us all and bravely shared with us your story. It was a tale worth hearing and it brewed justice to your difficult travel to reach us. I doff my hat to you, my long lost friend. Indeed, your presence was something we will never forget; as who can ever forget your revelations.
Amidst the tears of Stags listening to your story, I was again reminded of the color spectrum of life; shifting shades at every stage. I am happy you have transcended your trials and travails. I still encourage you to write your book, "Wheeling and Willing". It should serve as inspiration.
I have posted the first photos on our website. And yes, I will be posting more photos, with quotes and highlights. I am sure the other Stags will post and share their photos and thoughts too.
Thank you again, Dennis and please extend my regards to your wife Grace and your bro-in-law, William. Grace is great; and you were meant to be together. <<Did you notice I used your wedding photo as background for my presentation video, "Classmates, Soulmates & Housemates: Spaces in Togetherness"...?>>
I forgot to thank you Chito, Chi, Thelma & kids, Mulo and Febs for sending me off to the airport. Hanga ako sa mga anak mo Thelma, they have the initiative to do what is right even not being told to do so. At kay Butchi, who called me at the pensionne house that he cannot be with us to the airport because of flood infront of their house.
Maraming, maraming salamat sa inyong lahat mga classmates !
